Our Story

Tahaddi (“challenge” تحدّي)

Tahaddi is a Lebanese NGO standing with families facing extreme economic hardship through a community-based, holistic approach—education, healthcare, mental health and psychosocial services, and livelihood opportunities that empower children, youth, and families to build brighter futures.

Based in Hay El Gharbeh (south Beirut), we support all families in need—challenging injustice, breaking barriers, and opening pathways to dignity, opportunity, and hope.

Our Community

Rooted in Hay El Gharbeh

The area faces overcrowding, fragile infrastructure, limited access to services, unemployment, and lack of documentation. Among residents is the Dom community, a Lebanese minority long facing discrimination.

Yet resilience thrives. Programs are co-created with local residents—many serve as educators, social workers, and health assistants— meeting urgent needs while nurturing long-term dignity and opportunity.
